Early this morning, I received a text message from my favorite friend, Jeffrey, recounting a story my mom used to recount to me on this day every year. I love that he remembers!
On my way to work this morning, my favorite radio station played one of my favorite songs. Too bad that it doesn't add to our iTunes playcount!
Today, my favorite work tradition took place. Our company has 400+ employees and offices around the world. Our chairman travels to each office and hands out Christmas bonuses to each individual. It always involves 2 to 3 minutes of awkward conversation and a canned compliment, but how cool is it that he takes the time to personally greet each employee? It's times like these that I just about convince myself that I'm not working for "the" man, rather "a" man. And a good one.
I visited my favorite kitten site this afternoon. It's pretty much guaranteed to give me a smile. Today is no exception.
Straight after work, I'm heading to my favorite book group: the library ladies. This month's book is Free For All: Oddballs, Geeks and Gangstas in the Public Library. The author is conference calling in, which I think is pretty cool.
And to pull a wonderful day together, tonight I'll have dinner with my favorite person in this world, who will be playing the part of Julia Child. I'm sure that whatever is on the menu, it will be my favorite birthday dinner.
